Rubber Roofing

If your house has a low-slope or flat roof, then you should consider rubber (also known as EPDM) roofing. This roofing material brings down the labor costs to minimum as compared to other roofing options and also exhibits an extraordinary durability that provides magnificent resistance to tears and abrasion. Benefits of Rubber Flat Roofing:

• EPDM is more enviromentally friendly as its made out of re-cycled materials
• EPDM reflect heat in the summer months
• Acts as an insulator
• Weatherproof - good for our variable weather conditions
• Waterproof
• Most are fire resistant
• UV stable making them non-perishable
• Easier to repair
• The material is ideal for flat or low-pitched roofs
• Durable
• Long lasting
• It can be purchased in sheets, therefore, no seams so a much better fitting
• Aesthetically pleasing

Cost will be more than the traditional felt roof, however, it is longer lasting so more cost effective

Felt Roofing

Built-up roofing consists of two or three layers of bitumen sheet bonded together through adhesive or hot bitumen. The bitumen is produced through the distillation of crude oil. Reinforced bitumen sheets are manufactured using a base layer consisting of one of a number of materials including organic fibres, glass fibre or bitumen-saturated polyester, though in practice, organic felts rarely meet performance criteria. The material is passed through a bath of molten bitumen and then coated with sand to prevent adhesion.

Benefits of Felt Roofing:

• Economical
• Used for small outbuildings and Garages
• Can be fitted in a day
• The underlying structure is really important
• The roof needs to have a slight gradient for water to run off
• The timber (use wood not chipboard) joists underneath need to be strong to withstand any sagging of the felt over the years
• Felt roofing with good preparation can last for many years
• It is more economical than rubber and fibreglass

Fibre Glass Roofing

The system for flat roofing Polimar Liquid Roofing (known as GRP Fibreglass Roofing) is far superior when it comes to traditional GRP Fibreglass, it looks the same but has far more benefits as it stays highly flexible throughout its life span unlike traditional GRP Fibreglass, offering a 10 – 20 year warranty direct from us.

Benefits of Fibreglass:

• Tough and hard wearing
• Waterproof
• Lasts at least 20 years
• Can be repaired if physically damaged
• It can be moulded to any area
• It doesn't deteriorate at the same rate as felt roofing
• Can be extended or re-furbished
• Prevents illegal access
• Can be tiled or used as a garden platform
• Replaces lead and has no intrinsic value to thieves

Jan A.
The front garden had several small issues, HardScape came up with a cost effective way to repair my wall, re-turf the lawn and improve the overall look with some simple landscaping touches. I'm very happy with the end product.

Miss C., Great Wyrley
Our tarmac driveway needed repairing due mainly to the tree roots that had grown underneath it. HardScape removed the tree completely, dug out the old driveway and installed a new tarmac driveway, great work, great price!
